Description
Although Lay’s is originally a potato chip brand developed in the United States, nowadays both Lay’s and Fritos are distributed worldwide by the Frito-Lay corporation, which has been a wholly owned subsidiary of PepsiCo since 1965. That’s why the brand is also known as Frito-Lay. Although the Frito-Lay company primarily uses the brand name “Lay’s” in the US, it also uses other brand names in other countries around the globe that Lay’s wholesale distributors are familiar with. For example: Smith’s in Australia; Walkers in the UK and Ireland; Chipsy in Egypt and the West Balkans; Tapuchips in Israel; Poca in Vietnam; Sabritas in Mexico; Margarita in Colombia; and (formerly) Hostess in Canada.
