Lay’s Chips

No home celebration is complete without including Lay’s on the party menu. The crisp flavours of Lay’s potato chips have been present in your homes for more than 7 decades, and the rich corporate history of this internationally recognized US FMCG brand proves that there may be at least 7 more to come. It all started when Herman Lay, a salesman, began a snack food enterprise in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1932. Only 6 years later, he bought the Atlanta, Georgia-based potato chip maker “Barrett Food Company”, renaming it “H.W. Lay Lingo & Company”. Initially, Lay drove across the South, selling his production from the trunk of his automobile. Today, his small business has turned into an international corporation with a high yearly revenue and millions of fans worldwide.

Description

Although Lay’s is originally a potato chip brand developed in the United States, nowadays both Lay’s and Fritos are distributed worldwide by the Frito-Lay corporation, which has been a wholly owned subsidiary of PepsiCo since 1965. That’s why the brand is also known as Frito-Lay. Although the Frito-Lay company primarily uses the brand name “Lay’s” in the US, it also uses other brand names in other countries around the globe that Lay’s wholesale distributors are familiar with. For example: Smith’s in Australia; Walkers in the UK and Ireland; Chipsy in Egypt and the West Balkans; Tapuchips in Israel; Poca in Vietnam; Sabritas in Mexico; Margarita in Colombia; and (formerly) Hostess in Canada.

The potatoes used in the production of every bag of Lay’s chips are grown on over 100 US and a few Canadian farms. You can support these local farms by ordering the following tasty snacks from your Lay’s chips supplier:
